They will also become the new front page image to our website. Thank you to everyone who voted. I have been overwhelmed at the response, I had no idea my wee poll would create such interest. In the end 292 votes were cast. When you consider that the voting system counted each ISP address and stopped multiple votes from the same computer it just goes to show how much interest there was. I’d also like to make another big thank you to all my brides and grooms of 2008. This business wouldn’t have been here without you guys, I am extremely grateful to you all – including those who didn’t feature in the poll. You have really helped get the business off to a flyer and I wont ever forget you or your weddings. Thank you all – Stuart 1500 Photography
This was a very special wedding for me.
Amanda, Paul and I hit it off right from the start. They were among the first people to book me and put their faith in 1500 Photography. Amanda had some brilliant ideas for how her wedding was going to look and feel, different to most weddings with an ‘Urban Chic’ vibe. We were going to start off at the house first, then onto Park Circus for the ceremony, Botanic Gardens for pictures and then The Universal in Sauchiehall Lane, for the reception.
I have been trying to write this blog entry for a while now, but I keep getting caught up in superlatives and mush when I talk about these guys. So I thought instead of me trying to put into words how great this day was for me – I would post Amandas perspective on her wedding pictures.
Paul and I are so lucky, we have the most glorious, unique and beautifully shot photographs of our special day, add to that two new treasured friends in Stuart and Gillian. From our first appointment we knew instantly that we could put our hopes and trust in Stuart and his creative ideas were just sublime.
His direction gave Paul and I endless confidence, his repoire with our guests was so wonderful, with everyone at great ease and big smiles. His interpersonal skills and friendly while responsive nature was fantastic, even when coordinating our party in their high spirits. (Yes champagne was involved!)
We especially enjoyed the picture that arrived as a screensaver on our phones to the next day, that we showed off with pride, while on honeymoon.
I can’t thank you enough, for the fantastic memories you have helped make for my husband and I. With great warmth, respect and gratitude always, Amanda.
Not bad, eh ? I have never had such a wonderful thank you in all my life. This was wedding where I felt a real part of the day rather than an observer. To be caught up emotionally in their wedding was a very special exprience and perhaps that shows in the pictures too. I am immensely proud of these shots and am delighted to now have two great friends in Paul and Amanda.
A terrific couple who are just the best. Thanks Guys
Josephine and John recently had their wedding at St Andrews in the Square. A cracking venue for a cracking couple. These guys were amongst the first couples to book 1500 Photography and we hit it off right from the get go. I have never laughed so much at a pre wedding meeting than with these two and the laughter carried through onto the day and into the pictures.
Im really proud of the pictures that John and Josephine helped me achieve. As you can see we stayed on a little later and got an brilliant shot of St Andrews in the Square floodlit (eventually ! – the sun refused to go down !!!) Thank you both for being such good sports.
Ah ! Back to lovely Luss again. And in the sunshine too ! A beautiful day with a great couple. We took most of our pictures in and around Luss with a whole set on the pier. I love the shots of them at the shop !!
We finished the day at The Cruin Hotel just further up the Loch.
As you can see from the previous post, Loretta got some stunning results. However I thought it would be fun to put up some shots taken of me as I set up their pictures
And with this set here you can see me directing, shooting and “chimping” ***
To see more shots from this wedding have a look here
** Chimping – (The phrase is most likely derived from comparison between the sounds and actions some photographers make while reviewing images and those of an excited primate (Oooh! Oooh! Aaah!), or when a photographer is absorbed in the act of analysing, admiring or proudly displaying a shot to others.)
Goodness me Loretta and Jason, what an experience taking your pictures was !!
A great couple from Hong Kong who had their hearts set on having their wedding pictures taken in Scotland – Edinburgh in particular.
Having emailed the arrangements back and forth for over 3 months, booking castles, photographer, make up and hair the only thing we couldn’t organise was the one thing that let us down…… the weather.
As exhausting as it was for me, imagine running this course in a wedding dress and in the rain. I have never met a couple so focused on getting the pictures that they want and so determined to defy the conditions. With this much energy directed towards the photography – I could’nt possibly go wrong
I just feel very lucky and honored that they chose me to be their photographer.
Thank you both

So every now and then one of your friends get married. Great news eh? But what if its really close friends? People you see every week? Families you know? Other friends at the wedding? All watching you !!
Just to add to the pressure I was also going to loose my wingman for the day - Gillian was a bridesmaid !
With everything taking place at Lochside House I knew that the staff were going to be very helpful and the day was going to run smoothly. It did. Even the weather held for us.
After dinner and a couple of really good speeches the party got going. I nipped back to my room to check all the images, upload them onto the computer, then returned to the celebrations (camera in hand naturally)
All in all – a perfect day. One that will live with me forever. Not just because it was 2 people who mean so much to me, but because Donald and Lyndsay are such a great couple.
I have never seen a couple so well loved by some many people – Cheers Guys x

With the wedding season in full swing it was a welcome relief to have a wedding on my doorstep. Jacqueline and Jonathan got married at St Kessogs in Balloch before heading to Cameron House for their reception.
One of the main factors in these guys choosing Cameron House for their venue, was the stunning scenery. And who could blame them? The Loch, The Ben, the greenery stretching out across one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland …… and (unfortunately) all hidden under blanket of rain on the day!
Thankfully, not only is Cameron House a great venue, regardless of the weather, but I also had two of the most affable people I have ever met in my life to photograph. Both Jacqueline and Jonathan were calm, gracious and in great spirits all day. (In the shot below the rain was bouncing so hard off the water, a mist cloud started to rise)

Congratulations to Robert and Kirsty. Married recently at the excellent Piping Centre (which is fast becoming one of my favorite venues) before heading off to the Bontanic Gardens for photographs……. at least that was the plan. On the day of the wedding large parts of our route was closed off due to the West End Festival.
Then at the park Stephen, the best man, forgot to bring the permission slip and the Botanics didnt have Roberts and Kirstys wedding on their books. Thats when the ‘parkies’ descended upon us …..
Fortunately after quick meeting with the very understanding staff at the gardens, we continued our session, capturing some brilliant shots. Not only were Kirsty and Robert a really nice couple to work with, they also have a wicked sense of humour. So despite all the stress of running around Glasgow on a hot and busy day – the wedding was a great fun day, with a great fun couple.
All the best guys !
